That's all it takes. Send a text or photo message, and we take care of the rest. Each new text takes its proud place at the top of your site.

How Does This Work?

1. Text (360) 230-7778.
2. Your site is created and/or your text is added to your site.
3. We send you a text with a link to your site.
4. Choose to keep your site to yourself or share the link with anyone you like. We won't share it.

Tips

Send images or text or both! But not video or audio at the moment.

Emojis work! 😎 🤙

Tags! add a hashtag at the end, such as #tag #awesometag. Add them at the end, not within the text, because we remove them from the body of the text and add them back as clickable links below the post.

If you click on a tag link, you get a filtered list of all posts with the given tag.

Tag your vacation photos and send a link to share your adventures; Tag your workout stats to see your progress over time. So many possibilities!

Settings

We want to keep things simple and text-based, but everyone needs a little customizing!

Change your site's style. Text:

Customize the title. Text:

Delete most recent post. Text:

  • The footer has a text component and a link component that need to be set separately. As with the default footer, the text is followed by the link.

  • The footer link requires special formating, which includes the link text inside brackets - [] - and then the link address in parentheses - ().

  • One or both footer components can be left blank by sending the text command without any content (example: footer-text:)

About

First, this was heavily influenced by phasedust.com (i.e. I blatantly stole the idea!). I saw it in a Hacker News post, and immediately started using it.

I'm not big on social media, but I like the idea of keeping a diary/log that I might choose to share, but I don't have to. And I wanted some control over it.

I make web stuff, so I naturally thought I should make what I want, and see if others want it, too.

Future Plans

There are a number of features I would like to include, but the goal will be simplicity.

Delete Site: You will always have the option of fully deleting your site. Right now, you would need to contact me for that, but know that you can always text site:pause to immediately disable the site.

Edit/Delete Posts: I would like to allow for each post to be viewed independently, which would then create an opportunity to delete individual posts in a more elegant way than the 'delete:last' command described above. I am not sure that editing is something that makes sense, but possibly.

Timestamps: The timestamps are set to GMT right now. I will try to offer a way to allow for the setting of timezones.

We only use the privacy-focused Fathom (affiliate link) analytics service to track visits to this homepage. We don't track visits to user sites, but we may offer you the ability to do that yourself at some point. We only retain what you give us and is required to provide this service. Your phone number is salted and hashed before it is stored in our servers. We can only auto-reply to your messages, so you will never receive unsolicited messages from us or anyone else. We use Twilio to receive and send messages.
